One possible method of “keeping” clients is to show them, at every possible opportunity, just how much they need you.

You don’t have to look too hard to find examples of people doing this.

From my perspective, displays like this broadcast an extremely deep level of powerlessness.

Someone saying or implying “You need me!” is the surest sign that the opposite is true. They need you to need them!

The biggest recommendation for maximum “client retention” is to forever stop thinking about it. It takes your focus off the work you are here to do with your clients.

Trying to keep what you have is borne out of fear of losing what you have. THIS is the issue to work on resolving, not the outer symptom it creates.

Focus on you becoming more effective and powerful and clear in helping them achieve their goals. That is what you control.

“Retention” is a concept rooted in weakness that has no true connection to what we are here to do. What we are here to do is serve. Service does not mean subservient. Service is an act of true power.

It is deliberate, it is conscious, it is strong. More importantly, it is not forever.

If there comes a point in your relationship with a client where your ability to truly serve them is coming to an end, let them go.

Clients for life is a lie. You will keep them until it is time for them to go.
