So if a major life lesson is to focus your awareness and attention on that which you control, what do we think the chances are that this principle also holds true for that portion of life some folks have cordoned off and refer to as business?

I think the chances might be high. Maybe like 100%?

But that’s not really how we’re trained. We’re more often trained to spend our time trying to somehow influence things we do NOT control.

  • Gotta get leads!
  • Gotta make sales!
  • Gotta close those deals!

It only took me 12 years or so to wake-up from this delusion.

That’s when my former anger management issues led me right to the media platform and writing these messages to you.

If you don’t want to be a commodity, step number one is to stop acting like a commodity.

That means you don’t do things commodities do.

It also means you DO do things commodities don’t.

Commodities sit there on the shelf and wait to get chosen using the widely spoken language of PRICE.

Go a different direction. Do what they won’t do, can’t do, don’t have the patience to do.

Become valuable to the world first without demanding anything in return.

That doesn’t mean that plenty of things won’t come into your world. But not demanding those things is the key.

This isn’t quid pro quo (something for something,) it’s quid pro nihilo (something for nothing!)

This approach communicates far more about you and your true intentions than any words could.

Best of all, doing this is under your control.

If you’re still waiting to help the world through your OWN media platform, that’s the first thing to get started doing.
